Willow Warble

A few days ago, just before the dam broke and the heavens finally poured forth a thunderous deluge of much needed water, a wave of migrants hit the 'Ten. Three or four Lesser Whitethroats and three Willow Warblers joined the Blackcaps, Chiffchaffs and Common Whitethroats already settled in the scrubby margins of Turbotsey Fen.
Now the rain has stopped, I decided to see if any Willow Warblers stayed, and I was pleased to find one of the two singing birds still at the ringing site.

This one's for you Dunc - and not at all an attempt to cover up the fact that I over-exposed it.

A week after finding the old water trough in use, the first chicks have hatched.
